MTM Awards was launched by Mast The Magazine, a local publication servicing diverse communities, based in the South West of England, the United Kingdom in 2012. The first award of its kind in the United Kingdom. MTM Award Winners are chosen from a cross-section of awards spread over 7 categories: The MTM Awards also honours organisations and businesses other than the Asian, Black & Ethnic with a Special Recognition. Winners receive a custom-made hand-crafted Bristol Blue Flame.

Nominations requirements are simple and straightforward, nominations must be officially submitted by persons nominating, through the MTM Awards online nomination submission form. Once nominated only members of the nomination panel to verify all nominees and forward them for the voting process. The voting process is online and is free and open to all. The MTM panel is composed of 9 members, all of whom are specialists in the respective categories. The nominees in each award are chosen by the members of the panel once after submission of the nomination questionnaire and short-listed.

The full panel sitting selects the winning candidates after all the votes are verified and counted. MTM Awards have maintained its policy of not releasing the names of the award winners to the press in advance; this has helped the awards remain undisclosed until announced officially at the Glittering Gala Award Evening.

Above bestowing the recognition and the prestige that comes with winning, an MTM Award is a major boost and can provide a crucial role in the success of the most winners.

After nine years of 172 awards winners, 78 Special Recognition honours, 4950 welcomes, 6350 nominees, and over 178,000 votes cast since the inaugural awards we’ve seen a remarkable increase in participation, an immense interest from diverse communities vying for this prestigious award since 2012.

“As Mayor of Swindon, I am delighted to be invited to such prestigious event as the MTM Awards and to be able to be a part of it. It is only right that we should recognise and celebrate both the contributions and the high achievements of our Asian and Ethnic Minorities”.The Worshipful the Mayor of Swindon, Councillor Eric Shaw.

“I congratulate and thank everyone from the Asian & Ethnic Minorities who have enriched our community by their hard work and creativity. I look forward to sharing in the public recognition of their outstanding contributions in our region at the Gala Evening on the 17th of December 2017″, Mayor of Taunton Deane Councillor Hazel Prior-Sankey.

“For me, the only way I can describe the #MTMs, Labels are for products, not people. MTM treats everybody as an equal. It boosts confidence in people as well, as well as networking and raising awareness for charitable causes. But mainly because no matter who you are, or where you are from you are treated like family.” # Plymouth-based Nigel Barrett of #Hawkeye photography is #chief #photographer for the MTM Awards.
