World Kiswahili Day & SJA Awards: We are thrilled to expand our cultural outreach with the 2nd World Kiswahili Day Glittering Gala Evening. Join us in commemorating the rich heritage of Kiswahili language and culture, promoting unity and understanding across borders. This event also marks the second edition of the SJA Awards (Sema Jambo Awards), recognizing the achievements of the 250 million plus Swahili speakers worldwide.

We moved to a new home, The Bristol Marriott Hotel city centre. ……and re-branded as the MTM Asian, Black & Ethnic Minorities Awards thus other communities. The response was fantastic, we enjoyed greater participation across the South West.

MTM Gallery 2012 – The Inaugural Evening

MTM recognises the challenges most Asian, Black & Ethnic Communities overcome to get ahead in business and profession, hence we initiated the awards as an incentive to motivate these businesses, professionals and community heroes.

The awards were launched in July 2012 to honour the South Asian communities in the South West. These communities had not been recognised in any of the local award events in the South West and our founder found they need to Honour The Best of this enterprising community, showcase their potential and make in-roads for them to participate equally in business and community projects.

   MTM South Asian Awards was held on December 1st,  the 1st elected Mayor of Bristol George Ferguson as chief guest… an evening to remember..the rest is history. The first award of the evening, World Foods Mini-Market Award was presented by three-time Lord Mayor of Bristol Cllr. Peter Abraham to the winners Bristol Sweetmart.
