Sporting Excellence Award
All sports are considered for this award. We encourage you to nominate and help us recognise the sporting talent that is an important part of the South West’s existing sporting history.
The 2017 MTM Sporting Excellence Award was won by Bashir Mohamud aka Mohammed Abdulle of Savana
Youth Empowerment Award
Previously the Young Achievers Award. The purpose of the MTM Youth Empowerment Awards is to acknowledge, encourage and most importantly promote the positive achievements of all young people up to and including 29 years of age as of 16th December 2018.
The 2017 MTM Young Achievers Award winner is Pearl Fernandes of Swindon.
Person of the Year Award
Previously, Man of the Year & Woman of the Year Awards, it was decided to merge the two awards for equality. This premier annual accolade is given to the person to have most influenced the communities through culture, inter-faith cohesion, business, professional service and community work.
The 2017 Person of the Year Award winner is by Abdul Raoof Malik
Batook Pandya Lifetime Achievement Award
This is our premier award. The first recipient of this award was the Late Batook Pandya MBE. The Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded by MTM to “persons who, during their lifetimes, have made contributions of outstanding significance in business and or community. This is a person who through his initiative and continued efforts has changed the lives of many for the better.
The 2017 MTM Batook Pandya Lifetime Achievement Award winner is Rosa Hui MBE
National Award for Excellence & Achievements
This award was introduced in 2016 to include businesses and communities other than those in the South West. This award has opened doors nationally and internationally for the MTM Awards, the nominees and guests. Our ambassadors have been on the invite list of events nationally where we have been given opportunities to speak. This year we have two awards in this discipline: National Award For Excellence & Achievement in Business and National Award For Excellence & Achievement Community.
The 2017 National Award For Excellence & Achievements winner is Sikh Union of Coventry.

International Award for Excellence & Achievements
This award was introduced in 2016 to include community organisations, persons, artistes and NGOs other than those in the United Kingdom. This award has opened doors internationally for the MTM Awards, the nominees and guests. Our international ambassadors have been of great assistance to identify those really deserving this accolade. Nominees are required to provide proof of works and or projects and persons applying for this recognition must have credentials and referees to prove their worth.
