Inaugurated on a memorable Saturday, December 1st, at the prestigious University of the West of England, the MTM Awards embarked on a journey that transcended cultural boundaries, bringing together diverse communities from the South West and South Wales. The inaugural event witnessed the presence of the newly elected 1st Mayor of Bristol, George Ferguson, who not only played a significant role as the chief guest but also forged a lasting bond with the MTM Awards.

Over the 11 amazing years, George’s unwavering support has elevated him to the role of a dedicated advocate, attending most Glittering Gala Award Evenings since 2012. His consistent presence has solidified the awards’ impact and importance in the community, marking numerous achievements and milestones.

Dedicated to supporting charities since 2012, both in the United Kingdom and abroad, MTM Awards has become a symbol of recognition and celebration. Beyond acknowledging talent, the awards provide crucial opportunities for emerging artists, fostering a sense of pride in those who grace the stage.

In the exceptional year 2021, named the “Year of the Green Carpet,” uncertainties around UK restrictions prevented the traditional awards ceremony. Despite this, the MTM Awards took the opportunity to replace the customary Red Carpet with a symbolic green one, paying homage to the South West’s commitment to environmental consciousness.

The Glittering Gala Awards ceremony,  albeit unique in its format, serves as a platform for networking and rejoicing with esteemed business and community leaders. The same year marked the initiation of two impactful projects: the Period Poverty Action Projects and the Malaika Foundation MTM. The former aimed to raise awareness and distribute sanitary towels in Lamu, Kenya, working in partnership with HURIS Foundation, Mombasa, Kenya, while the latter, led by director Junior Sheikh, focused on providing educational support for children in impoverished communities.

Generous support and donations have been instrumental in realising the mission of “Education For All” and ensuring “Free Sanitary Pads For All!”

MTM Awards further stands out with its unique Road Show, going On The Road to present finalist certificates and connect with nominees, the only awards organisation of it’s kind in the UK to go On The Road.

As MTM Awards extends heartfelt gratitude for phenomenal support over the past decade, it eagerly anticipates many more years of celebrating excellence and diversity. With the South-West of England at the heart of its focus, MTM Awards will continue to be a beacon of celebration, honoring the rich tapestry of talents and cultures that make our communities thrive in the United Kingdom and across international waters.
